The team has significant experience working together and brings a deep perspective on investing in middle market companies. Our CIO has successfully built two platforms for leading, multi-billion dollar global investment organizations and delivered a consistent, successful investment performance.




Jason has 18 years of experience investing approximately $1 billion in private credit for over 45 companies. Through the course of his career, Jason has founded, built and implemented U.S. credit strategy for two global investment firms.

As a Partner for Intermediate Capital Group, Jason founded and led the North American credit business and was also the founder and head of the Global Investor Management Group. During his time at ICG, he invested over $300 million in seven companies, designed and implemented strategy and process as well as managed a team of 21 professionals worldwide. As a Partner for AlpInvest Partners, Jason founded and built the global mezzanine platform, directed investment strategy and decision making and invested nearly $500 million in 27 companies. Earlier in his career, Jason invested over $100 million in mezzanine securities of 11 companies as a Managing Director for Caravelle Partners/CIBC World Markets and started his career at Kidder, Peabody.

Jason has a B.A. in economics from Colgate University where he graduated Magna Cum Laude and is a member of Phi Beta Kappa honor society.




Erik has 11 years of investing experience in middle market companies. During this time, Erik has invested equity and structured preferred capital in 12 companies across six countries. He has extensive experience with transaction sourcing, analytics, company and industry diligence, transaction structuring, negotiation and documentation. Erik has been deeply involved in the leadership of strategic, operational and financial initiatives for portfolio companies and has served on numerous portfolio company boards.

As Vice President at TPG Growth he invested over $280 million of equity capital in five companies. During his time as Principal at Fox Paine & Co., Erik invested over $310 million of equity in six companies. He has experience investing in industrials, consumer products, software, healthcare, retail and agriculture. Erik began his career as an Analyst in the Investment Banking Division of Goldman, Sachs & Co.

Erik received a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.




Dan has over 20 years of company operating, investing and legal experience. He is an attorney with significant senior management operating experience across various industries in North America and China.

Since 1995, Dan has been CEO, COO and/or General Counsel of portfolio companies of family offices and private equity firms.  From 1990 to 2010 he managed the operating company portfolio of a Toronto-based family office with interests in the textiles, furniture, packaging, communications and finance industries .   From 1997 to 2014 Dan was President and/or CEO of Cambridge Towel Company, a leading Canadian home textile manufacturer.   From 1997 to 2008 Dan was Chairman and CEO of Synergx Systems Inc., a publicly-traded systems integrator of life safety, security and communications systems.  Dan was also a Director and member of the Executive Committee of Polyair Inter Pack Inc., a publicly-traded manufacturer of specialty packaging and swimming pool products.  Dan is currently an executive with a New York family office with controlling interests in a variety of healthcare companies.  In addition, Dan is President at Woodcliff Holdings, a management consulting and investment holding company.

Dan has a J.D. from New York University School of Law and an A.B. from Columbia University.




Fred has over 20 years of experience in middle market finance. During this time, Fred has sourced, structured and syndicated several billion dollars of transaction volume for over 100 different companies. Fred’s responsibilities at Freedom 3 will be managing the firm’s relationships with investors in our new and existing funds and syndication of co-investments.

Prior to joining Freedom 3, Fred was a Managing Director and Head of Capital Markets at Fifth Street Asset Management, where he sourced several hundred million dollars of club transactions and syndicated over $800 million of private credit to co-investors. Fred held similar roles at TD Securities, Jefferies & Company, Berenson Minella & Company and CIBC World Markets.

Fred started his career at Manufacturers Hanover Trust where he completed their Credit Training Program. He attended Boston University’s London Internship Program and received his B.S. in Commerce & Engineering from Drexel University.




Pratik has over six years of experience investing in private credit and is deeply involved with transaction analytics and documentation, as well as company and industry diligence.

As a Vice President at Intermediate Capital Group he invested in seven companies representing over $300 million of structured junior capital. Pratik started his career as an investment banker at RBC Capital Markets where he was involved in all phases of transaction diligence, analysis, negotiation and documentation for mergers, leveraged buyouts, and debt & equity financings. His focus industries were healthcare, restaurants and retail.

Pratik received his B.A. in Business and Economics from Rhodes College where he graduated Magna Cum Laude and is a member of the Phi Beta Kappa honor society.


Vice President


Ben has experience investing in private credit since 2012 and is deeply involved with transaction analytics and documentation, as well as company and industry diligence. He has experience in several different financial disciplines, including direct middle-market lending, fixed income strategy and investment banking.

Prior to joining Freedom3, Ben was a credit analyst at KCAP Financial, where he primarily evaluated mezzanine and senior debt investments. He began his career at Credit Suisse, first as an Equity Capital Markets analyst and later as an associate in the Leveraged Finance Strategy Group.

Ben graduated cum laude from Dartmouth College, earning an A.B. with Honors in Government.
